Chickasaw Nation Industries is proud to announce the purchase of the McSwain Theater, located in downtown Ada, Oklahoma. The McSwain was built in 1920 and has a seating capacity of 500.
"We are very excited about the McSwain Theater acquisition. The McSwain has a long history and tradition of servicing the entertainment and community needs of Ada. The theater is a historic landmark in this area, and we look forward to the potential and promise that it presents," said Bill Anoatubby, governor of the Chickasaw Nation.
Chickasaw Nation Industries purchased the McSwain Theater in conjunction with the Chickasaw Nation's business diversification strategy. "We are always looking for opportunities to diversify our business interests and expand our revenue base," said Anoatubby.
Chickasaw Nation Industries plans to continue the current schedule of outstanding musical entertainment featuring the McSwingers and other local and nationally known artists.
Future plans for the theater include renovation of the interior, and building upon the styles of entertainment available.
"The McSwain offers a host of possibilities. We are thrilled for the opportunity to provide a stage for local and regional talent that continues the music traditions of the theater," said Anoatubby.
