ADA - The Chickasaw Nation was named the 2009 Ada Business & Professional Women's (BPW) Employer of the Year at a luncheon conducted October 22.

"We want to recognize the Chickasaw Nation for providing significant opportunities and services for Ada-area women," said Mary Ruth Barnes, BPW President. 

The Chickasaw Nation has an employee base of more than 12,000, approximately half of which are female.
Nominated by two of its employees, the Nation was commended for its "family first" policies, vast opportunities for advancement and excellent benefits. 

Brian Campbell, CEO of Chickasaw Enterprises, was there to accept the award on behalf of the Chickasaw Nation.

"We really appreciate receiving this award from such a wonderful organization," he said.
 
"We have experienced significant growth over the past years, and we hope to continue to live up to the standards of this award."

Previous recipients of the Ada BPW award are East Central University and Valley View Regional Hospital.
