The Chickasaw Nation broke ground July 29th for the new state-of-the-art Diabetes Care Center located at Carl Albert Health Facility, 1001 N. Country Club Road. The Chickasaw Nation Diabetes Care Center will move new, centralized location with the completion of a new center that will bring all the services and programs available under one roof. Construction is estimated for completion in seven months.
With over 8,490 square feet, the Diabetes Care Center will offer locations for each of the services and programs, as well as exam rooms and staff offices. "The new Diabetes Center will provide the most comprehensive diabetic care in all of Indian Country," Bill Lance, CNHS administrator, said. "Our new center will allow our health system to offer complete and convenient treatment to those affected by diabetes," Gov. Bill Anoatuby said. "It continues our commitment to enhance the overall quality of life of the Chickasaw people."
Funding for the diabetes center is provided through a federal Indian Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG), and the tribe has contributed a matching amount for the Diabetes Care Center completion.
