
Zane Browning

1936 -
Zane Browning began his career with the BIA at age 19. In 1991, he received the Meritorious Service Award from the Department of the Interior in recognition of his dedicated service and outstanding contributions on behalf of Indian people.
Browning served as superintendent of the local BIA Agency from 1979 to 1993.
He assisted in establishing Chickasaw Nation compacts for control of many BIA programs.
He also helped establish the Chickasaw Nation health clinic in Ardmore.
