Chickasaw students receive ECU degrees |

The East Central University Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society hosted the Spring 2008 Graduation Honors Ceremony at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at the East Central University Ballroom.
Along with several other ECU students, many Chickasaw students graduated with honors and were recognized at the ceremony. Many ECU deans, professors and advisers were present to show their respect for the students. [Full Article] |

Metal Mayhem recognized by the Oklahoma State Senate
Oklahoma Senator Susan Paddack recognized Metal Mayhem during the second session of the 51st Legislature Tuesday, May 13 at the State Capitol. The team was recognized for their accomplishments, hard work and dedication in their involvement with FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics.Senator Paddack and the State Senate congratulated Metal Mayhem for receiving Regional and National Rookie All Star Awards through FIRST Robotics. The team and sponsors were presented with certificates of congratulations.

Chickasaw Nation presents Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate
On March 11, 2008, Thunderbird Records released a new recording of works by Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate, a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation. This recording was performed by the San Francisco Symphony and San Francisco Symphony Chorus, and marks the first time a major American Symphony Orchestra and an American Indian composer have collaborated to record and release orchestral works.
