  • Attended Northern Virginia Community College and earned a degree from Rose State College, Midwest City, OK (President's Honor List)
  • B.A. Degree from University of Oklahoma in Architectural Design (selected for foreign study in interior architectural design at Oxford, England).
     

Type of Tribal Involvement

  • Elected to Tribal Legislature 1995
  • Chairperson, 2002 and 2003
  • As Chairperson, served as a member of all committees
  • Current Chairman, Old Historical Capitol Ad Hoc Committee
  • Former Chairman of the Legislative Committee Attends as many Community Council meetings as possible, including out-of-state Community Councils
  • Enjoys meeting with seniors at several senior nutrition sites
     

Goals

  • Participate in a tribal government that is open, people-oriented, fiscally responsible and responsive to the needs of Chickasaw citizens. For the Duncan, Oklahoma area, establish a senior citizens center, commodity distribution center and clinic
  • For the Pauls Valley Area, establish a senior citizens center.
  • Improve and enhance health care facilities and programs and educational opportunities for all Chickasaws.
  • Support the progressive nature of the Nation while preserving Chickasaw culture and traditions, especially the Chickasaw language.
  • Establish and implement a tribal judicial system.
  • Increase diversified economic enterprises.
  • Increase tribal land base.
  • Utilize my architectural education and experience to complete the Old Historical Capitol Building in as accurate a manner as possible.
     

Activities

  • I enjoy my family: Sons Jimmie D. Scott II and Dwain D. Scott, and Grandson Jimmy D. Scott III.
  • Member, National Foundation of Women Legislators, Oklahoma First Ladies, American Association of University Women, National Trust for Historic Preservation, International Interior Design, American Indian Alumni Association and the University of Oklahoma Alumni Association.
  • Self employed and has designed many commercial projects ranging from children's and adult furnishings to the interior of buildings.
  • Handiwork such as bead work and crewel work.
  • Working with my miniature horse who stands 39 inches at the shoulder.
