Types of Tribal Involvement

I have served 8 years on the Tribal Legislature, including 3 years as Secretary and 2 years as Chairperson. I am honored to be able to work for the Chickasaw Nation on the national level by serving on the Tribal Leaders Diabetes Committee, Health Resources and Services Administration AIDS Advisory Committee and the National Advisory Council on Nursing Education and Practice.

Currently I serve as Chair of the Land Development Committee and member of the Finance, Human Resources, Education, Old Historical Capitol Ad Hoc, Special Advisory Ad Hoc Committees and Court Development Ad Hoc Subcommittee of the Chickasaw Tribal Legislature.

In addition I serve as a member of the Chickasaw Health System Institutional Review Board, Board of Directors for the Chickasaw Banc Holding Company, Bank2 and the Chickasaw Foundation.

Goals

      I will support legislation that will:

• Improve the quality of health care for all Chickasaws.
• Increase educational opportunities for all Chickasaws.
• Support the efforts of the Executive Department to increase economic development and diversity in tribal businesses.
• Increase the tribal land base.
• Protect and promote tribal sovereignty.
• Protect and promote the language, historical sites, culture and traditions of the Chickasaw Nation.
• Promote the general welfare of Chickasaws of all ages.
