Applications Now Available for Chickasaw Princess Pageant

The Chickasaw Nation is seeking young Chickasaw ladies between the ages of 7 to 25 interested in representing the Nation as Chickasaw royalty. 

Three young ladies are selected annually through the Chickasaw Princess Pageant to serve as ambassadors for the Chickasaw Nation, traveling to events across Oklahoma and the United States. 

The deadline to apply for consideration is Friday, August 27.

The Chickasaw Princess Pageant will be conducted Tuesday, September 28 at the Ada Cougar Activity Center in Ada, Okla., conjunction with the annual Chickasaw Festival and Annual Meeting. 

Princess applicants should be registered citizens of the Chickasaw Nation with a minimum of one-quarter Chickasaw blood quantum.  Applicants must reside within the 13 counties of the Chickasaw Nation, be single and never married, not have children, not cohabit before or during their reign, be attending school or college and have a traditional Chickasaw dress.

Young women ages to 7 -11 compete for the title of Little Miss Chickasaw, those between the ages of 12-16 complete for the title of Chickasaw Junior Princess and those between the ages of 17-25 compete for the title of Chickasaw Princess.

In addition to a completed application, a copy of the applicant's CDIB and Chickasaw citizenship card, a 5x7 portrait and an essay on "Why I want to be a Chickasaw Princess” are also required.
