Time is running out to file a claim in Keepseagle v. Vilsack

The case of Keepseagle v. Vilsack is a nationwide class action lawsuit in which Native American farmers and ranchers challenged discrimination in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Loan Program from 1981 to 1999. Under the settlement, the USDA will pay eligible class members $680 million for damagers, provide up to $80 million in debt forgiveness, and improve USDA’s loan services for Native American farmers and ranchers. Prevailing class members may receive $50,000 for their claim. If you have been denied farm loans or loan servicing by the USDA you can benefit by making a claim before December 27, 2011.
