Youth Art Month Celebration

The Chickasaw Nation Division of Arts and Humanities will host "Peace, Love and Yams" to celebrate Youth Art Month (YAM) 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 8 at the Chickasaw Community Center, located at 700 N. Mississippi in Ada.

This event is free and open to the public. It will include a day full of hands-on art activities for youth of all ages. A few of the activities include face painting, art projects, food and the debut performance of "Through the Eyes of the Eagle" by area youth actors.

Sponsored by the Council for Art Education, Youth Art Month has been observed annually each March since 1961 to provide a forum to support art education.
