Chickasaw Nation Announces election results

Chickasaw Nation Election Secretary Rita Loder announced the results of the tribal election today.

Katie Case, Ada, won election to Pontotoc District Seat 3, while a runoff election will be required for Pickens District Seat 2.

Case received 1,616 votes (51%), while Nancy Elliott received 1,559 votes (49%) for the Pontotoc District seat.

Incumbent Donna Hartman will face Connie Barker in a runoff election for the Pickens District seat.

Hartman received 901 votes (45%), while Barker received 729 votes (37%).

Charles Lewis finished third, with 361 votes (18%).

The run-off election between Hartman and Barker will be August 26.

Incumbent legislators Dean McManus, Ada, and Steven Woods, Sulphur, were unchallenged.

Sitting Chickasaw Nation Supreme Court Justice Cheri L. Bellefeuille Gordon, Sulphur, was also unchallenged.

Elected officials will take the oath of office 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1.
