Nomination forms are now available for the 2011 fall semester Gates Millennium Scholarships. Deadline is Monday, January 10, 2011. Online nomination forms are available at https://nominations.gmsp.org/GMSP_App/.
The Gates Millennium Scholarship Program is looking for students who have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities.
The Gates Millennium Scholars Program is funded through a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The program gives eligible first-year undergraduate students the opportunity to complete a degree from a four-year accredited college in any field of study.
To be eligible for consideration for the Gates Millennium Scholarship, students must:
- Be African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American
- Be a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the United States
- Have earned a cumulative 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale in high school, or have earned a GED
- Be a first-time college student for the fall 2011 semester
- Meet Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria
