The Chickasaw Foundation has re-opened five scholarships for this year. The deadline to submit the application and all supporting documentation is 5 p.m. Friday, July 18.
The following scholarships were re-opened:
Division on Aging Scholarship – This scholarship is for a full-time Chickasaw student only. Students must be a junior or senior at any four-year college or university and majoring in geriatrics. The award is one $1,000 scholarship ($500 per semester).
Pearl Carter Scott Aviation Scholarship – This scholarship is for a full-time Chickasaw undergraduate or graduate student only. Students must be pursuing a degree in aviation (such as aviation law, aviation maintenance technology, flight training, air traffic control, aeronautical engineering, aerospace mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering with an aviation emphasis, airline and airport operations, airport management, meteorology, aviation technology management or any related field approved by the Chickasaw Foundation Board of Trustees) at a college, university or recognized private aviation school. The award is one $1,250 scholarship to be awarded in January 2009.
Edward L. Kruger Memorial Ittish Aaisha Scholarship – This scholarship is for a full-time Chickasaw student with a 3.0 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale. The student must be a graduate student enrolled in pharmacy school. The award is one $500 scholarship.
The Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse Scholarship – In Memory of Special Agent Patrick Flickinger – This scholarship is for a full-time Chickasaw undergraduate student enrolled at any two or four-year college or university. The student must be majoring in criminal justice, police science or an equivalent course of study. The award is one $1,000 scholarship ($500 per semester). ·
Chickasaw Children's Village Scholarship – This scholarship is for a full-time Chickasaw student who was a senior at the Chickasaw Children's Village during the 2007-2008 school year. The student must be a beginning freshman at any two-or four-year college or university. There are three $1,000 scholarships ($500 per semester).
