Pearl Carter Scott Casting Call in Ada Tuesday Sept 2

The Chickasaw Nation will be holding open auditions for a movie about the life of Pearl Carter-Scott from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 121 West Main St., Ada, Okla.

This film tells the true story of the late Pearl Carter Scott, a Chickasaw girl who is well known as the youngest licensed pilot in America. Befriended by famous aviator Wiley Post in the late 1920s, Pearl was performing as a barnstormer and commercial pilot by age 14.

Available rolls will include a lead role as Pearl Carter Scott. This actress will play a Native American Female, ages 14-18. This actress must have star quality. The role will require approximately 18 days of work.

Supporting roles will include Young Pearl, a Native American female ages 9-12 and Lucy, a Native American female 30-40 years old.

Other roles include:

Widow Harjo - a fluent Chickasaw speaker between the ages of 50-60

Young Georgie - a Native American male age 5-7

Georgie – a Native American male age 11-13

Young Arnetta – a Native American female age 8-10

Arnetta – a Native American female age 13-15

Mr. Ishmatubbe – a Native American male age 30 – 50

Chickasaw player 1 and 2 – Native American males or females in their teens

Individuals selected will need to be available to start filming Sept. 13, 2008 and be available for approximately four- five weeks.

Filming will take place six days a week and applicants will need to be available to work Saturdays-Thursdays in Oklahoma City throughout the course of the filming.

The number of days needed for filming will vary depending on the role. All actors/actresses will be paid for their individual parts in the movie.
