The city of Tishomingo, the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur and WinStar Golf Course are just a few of the many venues to be featured during the 49th Annual Meeting of the Chickasaw Nation and the 21st Annual Chickasaw Festival.
Activities begin September 26 and culminate October 3 in Tishomingo.

Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby will deliver the “State of the Nation” address during the Annual Meeting. The address is 9 a.m. Saturday, October 3 at Fletcher Auditorium
on the campus of Murray State College (MSC) in Tishomingo.
“Our culture and history come to life for all Chickasaws and our neighbors during the Annual Meeting and Festival,” said Governor Anoatubby. Immediately following Governor’s
“State of the Nation” address, Tishomingo’s Main Street will be the scene of the Festival Parade, one of the largest parades in the area.
A wide variety of exciting events and activities will be conducted throughout Tishomingo October 3, includingthe historic Chickasaw Capitol, Pennington Park, Murray State College campus, Johnston County Sports complex and other venues. Events include cultural and dance troupe demonstrations on the capitol grounds, the traditional Chickasaw lunch on the MSC campus, a Chickasaw artists’ exhibition, Chickasaw White House tours, a horseshoe tournament and more. A gospel singing will take place Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the capitol grounds’ west lot. Local and professional singers and groups will be on stage to entertain the crowd.
A number of other events are planned throughout the week, beginning with Junior Olympics in Tishomingo and a Golf Tournament at WinStar Golf Course Sept. 26; Chickasaw Princess Pageant in Ada Sept. 28; Arts and Culture Awards in Ada Sept 29; and Cultural day at the Chickasaw Cultural Centerin Sulphur, Friday, Oct. 2.
