Cultural Center Celebrates First Christmas with Yule Event
More than 700 people enjoyed Christmas films, Chickasaw culture and holiday refreshments Saturday, Dec. 11 at the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur, Okla.
Visitors lined up early to watch the yuletide movies, beginning with "Mickey's Christmas Carol" in the Anoli' Theater.
Both the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur and the McSwain Theatre in Ada are featuring special holiday movies until Dec. 26.
Classic Christmas films, ranging from "A Christmas Story" to "Polar Express" will be shown on the Cultural Center's four-story screen during the month of December.
Show times and dates are listed below.
Chickasaw Cultural Center Holiday Movie Schedule, Wednesday-Saturday
- "Mickey's Christmas Carol at 10:30 a.m., "A Christmas Story" at 11 a.m., "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (animated version) at 1:30 p.m., "Polar Express" at 2 p.m.
- Tuesdays, "Polar Express" will be shown at 1:30 p.m.
Sunday, December 19 and 26 Movie Schedule
- "Mickey's Christmas Carol", at 12:30 p.m., "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", 1:30 p.m. and "Polar Express", 2 p.m.
Admission to "Mickey's Christmas Carol" and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" is $1 per person. "Polar Express" and "A Christmas Story" is $6 per person (discounts may apply.)
The Aachompa' Gift Shops will also be offering a 15 percent discount on purchases Saturdays and Sundays in December, with the exception of consignment items.
The Cultural Center is located at 867 Charles Cooper Memorial Road in Sulphur.

McSwain Movies
The holiday theme continues on Main Street in Ada at the McSwain Theatre.
The following special holiday-themed films will be showcased this month:
- "White Christmas", Thursday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
- "Pearl", Tuesday, Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
General admission to all shows is $3 for adults, $2 for senior and $2 for children under 12.
