Representatives of Bacone College's Division of Adult Education will be providing two informational sessions regarding a new partnership between the college and the Chickasaw Nation. Each session will discuss tuition costs, course offerings, associates and bachelor degree programs, admission requirements and applying for financial aid. Informational sessions will be conducted on October 5, 2011 at the Douglas H. Johnston Building located at 300 Rosedale Road in Ada. The first session will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the second session will begin at 2:00 p.m.
The Division of Adult Education (DAE) at Bacone College was created to provide learning opportunities for the non-traditional and adult student. The division facilitates offering courses in select degree programs, continuing education, and professional courses in an adult-centered environment. All formats are held at times and locations that are convenient for the student. The Division of Adult Education promotes a wide variety of courses while maintaining academic integrity, commitment to American Indian educational opportunity, and spiritual values of the college.
Course Format
All DAE programs are offered in an accelerated format. Each course is 8-16 weeks in length. The division currently provides courses on the main campus, off campus, and online. Students that enroll in nine credit hours per semester are considered full-time.
Concierge Service
Adult Education Assistant Directors provide concierge service to all Adult Education students. They assist students through the admissions, financial aid, and enrollment processes. The Assistant Directors can even arrange to have books and other documents shipped directly to the student.
Additional Information
Required documentation will be:
- official high school transcript (if coming in with less that 30 hours from an accredited institution)
- official transcripts from ALL colleges attended (in sealed envelopes)
- ACT/SAT scores or ATB scores (for placement purposes only)
