Temporary airbrushed tribal tattoos, a photo booth and sand art are just a few examples of fun art-themed activities that will be available as the Chickasaw Nation hosts its annual Youth Art Month celebration.

The carnival-like event will be conducted 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 26 at the Chickasaw Community Center, 700 N. Mississippi in Ada.

Other activities include a moon bounce, sidewalk chalk art and a KCNP Chickasaw Community Radio booth where participants can play DJ.

Performances by the Chickasaw Children's Choir are on the schedule as well as an awards ceremony recognizing the winners of the Chickasaw Nation Anoli Creative Writing Contest.

Established in 1961, Youth Art Month is sponsored by The Council for Art Education, Inc. and the Art & Creative Materials Institute. It is celebrated each March to emphasize the value of art and art education for all children.
