The Chickasaw Nation is hosting the second annual Family Fun Day, Saturday, Aug. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Chickasaw Nation Head Start parking lot, located at 231 Seabrook Road in Ada.
This free event is designed for family fun and is being conducted during Child Support Awareness Month, which is celebrated nationally to recognize child support professionals and parents who are committed to making a difference in the lives of children emotionally and financially.
Family Fun Day is open to the public.
Activities planned for the day include: children's crafts, martial arts demonstration, a self-defense demonstration by Lighthorse Police, face painting, inflatables and a children's book give away by the tribal Head Start program.
The Oklahoma Blood Institute will host a blood drive. Special music by Skyler Purcell, Oklahoma Talent Queen, and the Chickasaw Dance Troupe will also be featured.
Free transportation by the tribal Road to Work program will be provided for families who live in the Ada city limits.
