The Chickasaw Nation has integrated employment, training, and related services through Public Law 102-477 to serve the Indian population in south central Oklahoma.

The area offices of the program operations division use a single intake, assessment and development of an individual employability plan (EDP).  Each adult or youth served must meet the requirement of being an enrolled citizen of the Chickasaw Nation or a member of another federally recognized tribe.

The goals are to:

  • increase the employability of Native American people within the Chickasaw Nation's service are
  • provide special services to enable Native American families to become productive in the workforce

The main components of these services are youth leadership services, educational/vocational classroom training services, occupational/employment services and general assistance, child care and other supportive services.

Supportive Services

Job readiness, work experience, on-the-job training and supportive services are provided for clients who are eligible. This component goal is to empower clients to obtain employment with career potential.

Contact your local area office for more information.
