About
The election office conducts all tribal elections, registers eligible Chickasaw citizens as voters and updates voter records. Required forms are available at the CDIB office or you can use
Form 264 to apply for Chickasaw Citizenship
and to register to vote.

Eligibility
- Must have CDIB on file with the Chickasaw Nation’s CDIB office
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- A Chickasaw descendent who is registered to vote with another Indian tribe is not eligible to register as a Chickasaw voter, unless he/she terminates his/her voting rights with that tribe.
Deadlines
The deadline to apply is when voter registration closes on the second Monday in July during annual tribal elections, and after elections are completed. Voter registration closes during annual tribal elections.
2010 Primary Election Schedule
June 7-9:
Candidate filing period (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Election Secretary’s office)
June 11:
Challenge to Candidacy ends at 5 p.m.
June 14:
Drawing for position on the ballot (1:30 p.m. at the Election Secretary’s office)
Candidates may pick up labels, print-outs, & CD’s.
June 14:
Last day to submit photo & biography to “Chickasaw Times” (by 4:00 pm)
Press release for candidates (news/media)
June 28:
Ballots mailed to voters who reside out of the contiguous 48 states
July 6:
Voter registration closes.
July 7:
After 12 p.m. candidates may pick up updated labels, printouts, & CD’s.
July 12:
Ballots mailed to ALL qualified voters.
July 21:
Last day to appoint a watcher.
July 27:
2010 Primary Election (last day to return ballots; no later than 10:30 a.m.)
Ballot tabulation begins @ 11 a.m.
Unofficial results posted immediately
Press Release made to public.
July 27:
Voter registration re-opens, if no run-off election.
July 30:
Recount period ends.
October 1:
Oath of Office Ceremony (11:00 a.m.)
