About:
The historic preservation office acts in stewardship for the Chickasaw Nation. Staff work to preserve and protect Chickasaw culture and significant historic places in Oklahoma and several states in the Chickasaw aboriginal homelands during the undertakings among federal and state agencies and sometimes private actions. Under various federal and states’ laws, the historic preservation office may undertake repatriation for the proper care and disposition of affiliated ancestors and objects while working with other federally recognized Native American tribes.
