About

This residential and educational care facility is available for Native American children. Sitting on 160 acres overlooking Lake Texoma, residents enjoy enmities that include a library, recreational areas and on site medical facilities.

The Children’s Village will provide Native American children with the opportunity for social, spiritual and personal development through professional guidance in a safe, nurturing environment. An emphasis is placed on educational needs.

Designed as a replacement for Carter Seminary with its dormitory approach to housing students, this facility uses cottage style housing. Each cottage houses approximately eight students each and house parents who provide guidance, support and direction.

Students at the Chickasaw Village attend Kingston school system. Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities. Tutoring services and flexible academic curriculum are designed to meet the needs of every child, including courses for the college bound, vocational, remedial, special education and “at-risk” students.

Individual needs assessments are developed for each student and the staff works in addressing the students’ emotional, spiritual, social and physical needs. Located in a rural area, hiking, gardening and a livestock programs teach responsibility, life skills and channel youthful energy into positive results.
