About

The Chickasaw Nation considers its elders “living treasures” and works hard to provide for them the best service and care possible. By offering programs and services which are focused on all aspects of their lives, the tribe remains devoted to the health and well-being of its elders.

This is a nationwide program available for Chickasaw citizens and Native American elders who attend the Chickasaw Nation Senior Centers. The Chickasaw Nation provides transportation for 45 to 50 Native American elders (minimum of 30) to travel to Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama and/or Mississippi, following the Trail of Tears route taken by our ancestors.

The group must contain at least 20 elders that have not taken the trip in the past. The group is escorted by Chickasaw Nation guides. Each attendee is responsible for his or her own hotel room costs and meals.

You Provide
  • Chickasaw citizenship card
  • Completed file at Chickasaw Nation Senior Centers
  • Hotel room costs
  • Meal costs
Eligibility
  • Must be 60 years of age or older
  • Must be a Chickasaw citizen
