A limited number of students are selected each year to participate in a space camp. During this week-long program located in Huntsville, Ala., students get hands-on training as well as learn about the mental, emotional and physical demands astronauts must face. Fields of study include engineering, space technology and aerospace science.

The youth who attend Space Camp can expect to take part in flight simulations, academics and team building exercises meant to inspire students to pursue careers in science, technology and math fields.
Space Camp is categorized by a student’s age and ability, with challenges getting progressively more difficult and focused as age increases. 

Founded in 1982, Space Camp is known as one of the premier educational programs in the world.  Located at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center and the visitor center for NASA’s Marshal Flight Center, the campus boasts the country’s only full rocket and shuttle display.

• June 17-21

• Must be a Chickasaw citizen
• Must be between   9-11 years old for Space Camp
• Must be between 12-14 years old for Space Academy
• Must be between 15-18 years old for Advanced Space Academy
