This service provides federal burial assistance to eligible Native Americans residing in the Chickasaw Nation boundaries.

You Provide
  • CDIB or tribal citizenship card
  • Statement of itemized expenses from funeral home
  • Death certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Proof of residency
Eligibility

Notification of death must be received by the Chickasaw Nation within 30 days following death.

  • Must be a member of a federally recognized tribe.
  • Must reside in the Chickasaw Nation service area.

Application for burial assistance is made by contacting the local area office. Family member of deceased must apply within 30 days of date of death.  Contact your local area office for more information.

If you are a Chickasaw citizen over the age of 60, you may also be eligible for an additional burial supplement assistance program.
