"37" Rental Program

About:
This program provides rental assistance to low income families. The program exercises Native American preference.

Required forms are available at the above address. A background check on all family members 18 years of age or older is required; this will be completed by court clerk in applicant’s residing county.

An applicant can expect to find out within 10 business days if he/she qualifies and will be placed on a waiting list. The “37” rental units are available in designated locations within the service area.

The "37" Rental Program provides rental assistance to low-income families; the program operates in accordance with the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA) and current policies and procedures to ensure that our rental units remain as current assisted stock and affordable.  For more information, contact housing management services at (580) 421-8854.

Program Requirements:

  • Low income
  • Native American preference
  • Must meet all eligibility and selection criteria
  • Comply with lease agreement and Chickasaw Nation housing policies
  • Payment based on 25% of adjusted income

You Provide:

  • CDIB
  • Social Security cards of all household members
  • Income verification of all household members
  • Information and Privacy Act release form

Eligibility:

  • Native American with a Chickasaw preference
  • Low income (80% or lower U.S. Median Income)
  • No outstanding debt owed to the housing division or to the Chickasaw Nation
  • No engagement in drug-related criminal activity
  • Non-Native American families can be housed only after Native American needs are met
  • $20,000 asset limitation 


"98" Rental Program:

About:
This program allows units to be leased in the private sector by low income Native Americans.

Required forms are available at the above address. A background check on all family members 18 years of age or older is required; this will be completed by court clerk in applicant’s residing county.

An applicant should know within 10 working days if he/she qualifies for the program and will be placed on a waiting list. This program is restricted to the 14-county service area: southern portion of Bryan, Carter, Coal, Garvin, Grady, southern portion of Hughes, Jefferson, Johnston, Love, McClain, Marshall, Murray, Pontotoc and Stephens counties.

The "98" Rental Program is operated in accordance with NAHASDA and allows for units to be leased and subsidized in the private sector.  Payments are based on 25% of adjusted income.  For more information contact housing management services at (580) 421-8854.
