Description

The Great Seal of the Chickasaw NationOn October 1, 1994, the Chickasaw Nation assumed administrative and operational control of Carl Albert Indian Health Facility, a significant achievement for an Indian tribe in the United States.  This marked the first time in history an Indian nation had negotiated a successful compact for an entire health care system.

CAIHF serves the medical needs of more than 190,000 Native American patients from across central and southern Oklahoma.  The hospital is a 53-bed acute care facility including a 36-bed Medical/Surgical unit, 13-bed Obstetrics/Gynecology unit, four-bed Intensive Care unit, 24-hour-a-day Emergency room, as well as an Emergency Fast Track clinic which is available Monday through Friday until 8 p.m., including weekends and holidays.  Renovations, new equipment purchases and highly trained staff enable the hospital to provide the most up-to-date, patient-oriented medical services.  CAIHF and satellite clinics are fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
