ARDMORE, Okla. – The Chickasaw Nation will host a Cultural Enrichment Day open to the public at no charge noon to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Chickasaw Nation Ardmore Community Center, 907 Locust St.

Visitors will learn about stickball, stomp dancing, finger weaving, bow making and the Chickasaw language, among other topics close to the history and culture of the Chickasaw Nation. Instructors will consists of experts from many backgrounds and specializations.

Some sessions will include hands-on activities and others will follow a lecture format. Each session is an hour long, with three concurrent cultural classes being taught at one time. Visitors are welcome to stop in for one class or stay the whole evening.

    • Mini moccasins make-and-take
    • Archery tag
    • Canoe presentation
  • 5:30-6:30 p.m.
    • Finger woven keychain make-and-take
    • Stomp dance etiquette
    • Chickasaw language lesson
  • 6:45-7:45 p.m.
    • Bow making
    • White House presentation
    • Twining make-and-take
