2021-2022 Flu Vaccination

As the flu season continues through the winter and spring months, Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH) facilities offers walk-in flu shots at all locations.

  • All satellite clinics in Ardmore, Purcell and Tishomingo accept flu shot walk-ins for patients 6 months of age and older.
  • The Pediatric Clinic at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center (CNMC) offers flu shots through nurse-only appointments for patients ages 6 months and older.
  • Adult patients age 18 and older can receive the flu shot through the CNMC Primary Care Clinic.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends everyone over 6 months old receive a flu vaccine each year and lists many benefits:

  • Prevents millions of illnesses and flu-related doctor visits each year
  • Reduces the risk of flu-associated hospitalization for children, adults and elders
  • A preventive tool for those with chronic health conditions
  • Helps protect women during and after pregnancy
  • It can reduce the severity of illness in those who get vaccinated but still get sick

Though it will not protect against COVID-19, there are important benefits: flu vaccines have been shown to reduce the risk of flu illness, hospitalization and death. It can also save health care resources for the care of patients with COVID-19.
