COVID-19 Emergency Community & Business Support Program

Chickasaw-owned business and community entities can apply for reimbursement of business costs related to the health emergency. Reimbursement of costs for economic support in connection with the COVID-19 public health emergency is available through CARES Act relief funds. Eligible grant recipients may not use award proceeds to cover expenditures for which they will receive reimbursement or subsidies from any other awarding entity such as a tribal, federal, state or municipal organization.

Chickasaw-Owned Business Support

Costs of uninsured business interruption caused by closures, adhering to and/or promoting responsible distancing measures may be eligible for reimbursement with grant funds.

Secondary impact of decreased market demand such as a reduction in volume of business or customer traffic, maintaining personnel and many other necessary expenditures associated with the COVID-19 public health emergency may also be eligible.

Citizen-owned businesses may request reimbursement of costs for the following expenses: 

  • Personal protective equipment (PPE), establishing necessary reserves of PPE, sanitizing products
  • COVID-19 testing for employees
  • Establishing, operating or licensing COVID-19 tracing technologies
  • Telework capabilities for employees including hardware, software, licenses, security and other applicable technology tools
  • Portions of personnel costs
  • Portions of owner compensation replacement for self-employed individuals
  • Rent and mortgage assistance
  • Establishing public safety measures including digitization of customer or constituent experience, touchless systems, barriers, sneeze guards and other similar tools
  • Facilitating distance learning and other measures including technological improvements
  • Any other COVID-19 related expenditure including, utilities, unplanned maintenance, deep cleaning and similar needs reasonably necessary to ensure the function of the entity in response to the public health emergency to enable compliance with public health precautions

Eligibility

  • Businesses must be majority-owned (at least 51%) and operated by one or more Chickasaw citizens
  • Registered and in good standing with the Secretary of State and tribal government
  • Must have less than 776 part and/or full-time employees prior to March 1, 2020 and been negatively impacted by COVID-19.
  • Current DUNS number (check your status or apply through Dun and Bradstreet (DUNS) at DNB.com.)
  • Active registration on SAM.gov

You Provide


Community Entity Grant

Community entities within or adjacent to Chickasaw Nation boundaries may apply for reimbursement of costs associated with operations during the COVID-19 public health emergency.

Community entities may request reimbursement of costs for the following expenses:

  • Personal protective equipment and establishing necessary reserves including sanitizing products
  • COVID-19 testing to employees and other community members
  • Establishing, operating or licensing COVID-19 tracing technologies
  • Telework capabilities for employees, including hardware, software, licenses, security and other applicable technology tools
  • Private employer personnel costs
  • Public employer personnel costs
  • Rent and mortgage assistance for community entities that have experienced business interruption
  • Establishing temporary medical facilities and other measures to increase COVID-19 treatment capacity or improve mitigation measures, including related construction costs
  • Establishing public safety measures including digitization of customer or constituent experience, touchless systems, barriers, sneeze guards and other similar tools
  • Facilitating distance learning and other measures including technological improvements
  • Any other COVID-19 related expenditure including, utilities, unplanned maintenance, deep cleaning and similar needs reasonably necessary to ensure the function of the entity in response to the public health emergency to enable compliance with public health precautions

Eligibility

  • Community entity must be non-profit, not-for-profit, higher education program, school, school district, locality and/or any other community focused entity, including a public employer, that provides healthcare, programs, services, monetary, or other support to individuals with need resulting from the public health emergency
  • Must be in good standing with relevant government regulators
  • Must have less than 776 part- and/or full-time employees

  • Current audit report (if applicable)
  • W9
  • Copies of invoices and checks issued pertaining to reimbursement requests associated with qualified expenses due to COVID-19
  • Detail of salary and compensation expenditures, including but not limited to; timesheets, paystub vouchers and paid leave

Other Information

Eligible grant recipients may not use award proceeds to cover expenditures for which they will receive reimbursement or subsidies from any other awarding entity such as a tribal, federal, state or municipal organization.
