Yaakni’ Inaalhpisaat Chokma “The Nation’s Laws are Good” Judicial Camp

This two-day camp educates youth on the operations of the tribal court system. Students have the opportunity to meet tribal judges, Supreme Court justices, Chickasaw Lighthorse police officers, Peacemakers and court staff. Students will visit the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) facility, Pontotoc County jail and participate in mock trials.

Mock trial participants will work with experienced speakers and lawyers to learn the structures of the tribal court system. Students will be directly exposed to the basics of certain substantive areas of Chickasaw tribal law.
