Chickasaw Nation Inclement Weather Program


Out of an abundance of caution and to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, or COVID-19, certain Chickasaw Nation events, classes, facilities, etc., will be postponed, canceled or closed. For a complete list of postponements, cancellations or closures, visit the COVID-19 INFORMATION page. We will continue to update the list as the situation progresses.

This Inclement Weather Program (IWP) provides child care for Chickasaw students and the children of Chickasaw Nation employees, when the Chickasaw Nation offices are open and schools are closed due to inclement weather. This program provides a safe and stable environment for children while the parent is at work.

Application deadline is Sept. 30.

You Provide

  • A Chickasaw Citizenship certificate or Chickasaw Nation employee badge
  • A completed Inclement Weather child care program application
  • A copy of the child’s most recent grade report


  • Children enrolled in Head Start through grade six.
  • Parent(s) must be a Chickasaw citizen or an employee of the Chickasaw Nation.

Other Information

The program will only be available if the Chickasaw Nation offices are open and if one of the following schools are closed due to inclement weather: Ada, Byng (including Homer) or Latta.

Parents enrolled in the program will receive a text, email or an automated message that the program is in operation. Program services will begin 30 minutes before Chickasaw Nation offices opening and will end 30 minutes after offices close.

Children currently enrolled in the after-school program will automatically be accepted into the inclement weather program, but must still complete an application. Children in Head Start -kindergarten will report to the Chickasaw Nation Headstart, 224 Rosedale Road., Ada, Oklahoma. Children in grades one-six, will report to the Lazer Zone Family Fun Center, 14601 CR 3544, Ada, Oklahoma.
