Dynamic Woman of the Year Award

The Chickasaw Nation Dynamic Woman of the Year Award was established in October 2006 to honor Chickasaw women who have made significant contributions to the Chickasaw Nation and its citizens, served as role models to other Chickasaw women and who, because of their actions, have made a difference in the lives of Chickasaws and other citizens, enriching their communities and society at large.

As leaders in education, health care, arts, cultural advocacy, legal professions, politics, social services and community development, Chickasaw women have dared to forge new roads that continue to serve as a force of empowerment for girls, women and men of all ages.

The award is intended to pay tribute to a Chickasaw woman who has inspired, given hope or, through her example, opened new possibilities or opportunities for others. It salutes the contributions she has made to improving and enhancing the lives of those around her, her professional accomplishments, her community involvement and dedication to preserving the cultural heritage of the Chickasaw Nation and its people.

The honoree receives her award at the Chickasaw Arts and Culture Awards Ceremony in conjunction with the Chickasaw Annual Meeting and Festival.
