Chokka Chaffaꞌ (One Family)

The Chickasaw Nation Chokka Chaffaꞌ, or "One Family" Program is a home-based service for Native American families identified as being at-risk.

Chokka chaffaꞌ staff emphasize family strengths, promote stability, enhance parental functions and protect children of Native American families who live within the Chickasaw Nation boundaries. They focus on prevention and early intervention and work as partners with families to help them meet their needs.

You Provide

  • CDIB card
  • Income verification (including other income, child support, etc.)
  • Social Security cards for all household members
  • Monthly budget
  • Rental letter from landlord
  • Utility deposit verification

Eligibility

  • Must reside within the Chickasaw Nation boundaries
  • Children must be at risk of removal
  • Must have Native American child in home
  • Must have an identified need
  • Must be willing to participate

An intake form and a case service agreement will be completed during the application process for family preservation services.

  • In-home parenting education
  • Advocacy and support services
  • Tribal and community resource referrals
  • Limited monetary assistance in critical situations

Services are provided on a case-by-case basis to ensure that families receive the assistance that best fits their needs and situation.
