The Himonaꞌ program provides abstinence education and training to help youth identify healthy relationships, develop skills to make good decisions and set goals for the future, while understanding and avoiding sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and pregnancy.

Program Details

The purpose of the Himonaꞌ program is to offer abstinence education and training for youth and their family members. The Himonaꞌ program’s goal is to help youth identify healthy relationships, develop skills to make good decisions and set goals for the future, while understanding and avoiding sexual transmitted diseases (STD).

The Himonaꞌ program provides accurate information regarding pregnancy, STDs, contraceptives and practical ways to avoid inappropriate sexual advances.

The Himonaꞌ program presents to schools and participates in community activities to teach students why abstinence is the most effective method of preventing pregnancy and STDs.

Other Information

A certified abstinence educator is available during regular office hours for consultations with parents and adolescents.

These private consultations can be used to learn effective ways for parents to talk to their children about the importance of abstinence. Family appointments can help facilitate conversations between parents and teens about living an abstinent lifestyle.
