Submissions are being accepted for young Chickasaw women ages 14-18 to create and submit artwork of a butterfly for the Chickasaw Nation Butterfly Art Contest.
Butterflies hold deep meaning within Chickasaw culture. They represent beauty, adaptability and perseverance. Winners of this contest will receive a $500 cash award and have their artwork featured or incorporated on all promotional materials for the 2027 Dynamic Women of the Chickasaw Nation Conference.
Butterfly artwork should be on a white background and incorporate Chickasaw culture. Artists can use paint, drawing or collage to create their butterfly. Additional guidelines apply. Artwork that does not meet requirements will be excluded from judging.
