Chickasaw youth ages 14 to 18 are invited to develop their leadership potential with the Chickasaw Nation Chikasha Pehlichi Ikbi (Youth Leadership) Program.
During this 10-month leadership program, participants will refine their knowledge of Chickasaw culture and learn about other First American cultures. They will have the opportunity to interact with prestigious tribal, state and community leaders, gain experience in a variety of leadership settings, learn skills to serve as ambassadors in their communities and prepare for higher education.
The program will take place from October through July. Applicants must be enrolled in grades 8-12 or homeschool equivalent and have at least a 2.0 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
Chickasaw youth who live outside of the Chickasaw Nation are also encouraged to apply.
