Flu Shots Offered at Chickasaw Nation Department of Health Clinics

Date: October 14, 2026

With flu season upon us, it is a good time to understand how the flu is spread and can make you sick. The flu is a respiratory virus and is spread when people who have the virus cough or sneeze microscopic droplets into the air around them. Once the droplets are inhaled, it allows the virus to infect your cells and multiply. The flu can cause serious complications and can lead to hospitalization or even death.

The best prevention is the flu vaccine, which has been proven to reduce the risk of contracting the virus and can help lessen the severity of symptoms for those who get sick.

The Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH) recommends the flu vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older, including pregnant or breastfeeding women, and individuals with chronic health conditions such as asthma, COPD or heart conditions.

Flu shots are available at all clinic locations in Ada, Ardmore, Purcell and Tishomingo.
