The Chikasha Ihoo Empowerment Series invites prominent Chickasaw women from around the world to discuss important topics as experts in their fields. The first of this year’s series features Chickasaw citizen Dr. Judy Goforth Parker. She will be presenting “Food Sovereignty and Our Journey To Health.”
Dr. Judy Goforth Parker serves as the Chickasaw Nation Commissioner of Health Policy. She served as an elected tribal legislator for five, three-year terms (1994-2009) and was a supporter of health issues within the tribal legislative body. In 2014, she was named to Governor Bill Anoatubby’s Cabinet for the Chickasaw Nation as Secretary of the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH), serving from 2009-2018.
This presentation will take place March 31 at the Chickasaw Cultural Center’s Anoli' Theater in Sulphur, Oklahoma, from 2-3:30 p.m. It will also be livestreamed at Chickasaw.net/Empowerment.
