The Chickasaw Nation offers art classes for a wide range of students to explore and create with a variety of media. These programs are offered at no cost and are open to the public with Chickasaw preference.
- In the After School Arts Program (ASAP), students ages 8-10 can explore and create art using a variety of media during the Chickasaw Nation Arts & Humanities Division. Classes take place from 4-5:15 p.m. or 5:45-7 p.m.
- The Growing Artist Program (GAP) is open to Chickasaw citizens ages 11-13. Students will build upon their understanding of visual art basics as well as explore new materials and projects to creatively express themselves Ada from 5:30-7 p.m. on select Thursdays.
- The Chickasaw Young Artist Studio (CYAS) is available for students ages 14-18. Participants will have access to a studio environment to support their continued learning and development of their visual voice. Mentorship includes portfolio development and competition preparation in a variety of art media. This program takes place at the Chickasaw Nation Arts and Humanities building in Ada from 5:30-7 p.m. on select Tuesdays.
In celebration of their creative journey during the school year, students can display their work in an art show in May.
