The Chickasaw Cultural Center, in collaboration with the National Park Service and the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, will highlight the American bald eagle during the annual bald eagle watch. The event will begin 9 a.m., Feb. 4, at the Travertine Nature Center in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, Sulphur, Oklahoma.

Guests will join a park ranger for an educational presentation about the bald eagle, a magnificent bird of prey honored as a national symbol.

Following the presentation, visitors will travel to the Lake of the Arbuckles for eagle spotting. While spotting scopes will be set up at designated locations, visitors are encouraged to bring binoculars. Lake of the Arbuckles is a popular roosting destination for these magnificent birds.

Following the eagle spotting, the Chickasaw Cultural Center will have various eagle-themed activities from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., including free screenings of the film “American Eagle” at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in the Aaittafama’ Room.

The Chickasaw Cultural Center, 867 Cooper Memorial Drive, is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
