TISHOMINGO, Okla. — Tishomingo High School will host Chickasaw Appreciation Night Friday, Aug. 28, at the Tishomingo Football Field, 1300 E. Main St., before the Indians’ first game of the season.
Events will begin at 6 p.m. with food, beverages and family-friendly activities presented by the Chickasaw Cultural Center for Chickasaw citizens and Chickasaw Nation employees.
Chickasaw citizens or Chickasaw Nation employees can present Chickasaw citizenship identification or a Chickasaw Nation badge for admission, food and beverage at no cost.
The pregame program will also include a martial arts demonstration, the Lord’s Prayer performed by Chickasaw Nation Princesses and a prayer in Chikashshanompa' (the Chickasaw language).
The Chickasaw Honor Guard will post colors on the field during the national anthem, performed by the Tishomingo High School Band.
Before kickoff, Chickasaw Nation Governor Chris Anoatubby will participate in a special recognition and ceremonial coin toss at midfield.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
