The Chickasaw Nation Medical Center (CNMC) is proud to offer an American Society Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP)-accredited Post-Graduate Year One (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency. Currently, we offer two resident position.

Purpose:

The Chickasaw Nation Pharmacy Residency program provides the opportunity for residents to achieve professional competence in patient care and practice management and to develop clinical judgement and leadership skills as they become familiar with the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health. The residency provides the opportunity to develop skills while working in a collaborative environment involving pharmacy, nursing and medical staff in inpatient and outpatient settings. Pharmacy residents provide pharmaceutical services in the areas of therapeutics, pharmacokinetics, disease state management and pharmacy consultative services. Residents also provide educational programs to pharmacy, nursing and medical staff and the community. Residents are involved in quality improvement activities, pharmacy distribution, automated medication delivery systems, use of electronic software, database management and administrative and regulatory activities.

The Chickasaw Nation Medical Center (CNMC) opened in July 2010. Our commitment to the highest quality health care for Chickasaws and other Indian patients is manifested in this tremendous new facility. The CNMC gives the Chickasaw Nation another resource to ensure the achievement of the mission of the Chickasaw Nation, to enhance the overall quality of life of the Chickasaw people. To accomplish this mission, the tribe provides a wide variety of programs and services, including health care, education, housing and family services. The Chickasaw Nation Department of Health currently serves more than 552,000 patient visits every year at the CNMC, including three satellite health clinics. Pharmacy sites collectively fill more than one million prescriptions annually. The medical center in Ada, Oklahoma is a multiuse health systems facility with a state-of-the-art campus that features a 72-bed hospital with embedded ICU, day surgery, OB/labor and delivery and acute care wards, Level 3 emergency department, ambulatory care facility, diabetes care center, dental clinic, diagnostic imaging center and women's health center.
