Southeastern Art Show and Market

In 2005, the Southeastern Art Show and Market (SEASAM) began what is now a time-honored tradition with the first competition, show and market.  12 years later it continues to be committed to providing professional development and networking opportunities for youth, emerging and professional Southeastern and Woodland artists; to foster cultural identity through fine art of contemporary and traditional styles; and to provide a market place where artists may flourish.

SEASAM is a juried event.  Artists may enter up to four pieces of artwork (two per category) in the following categories:

Two-dimensional Art Division:

  1. Painting
  2. Drawing
  3. Photography
  4. Open
  5. Graphics

Three-dimensional Art Division:

  1. Sculpture
  2. Jewelry (Metal/Stone)
  3. Jewelry (Beaded)
  4. Pottery,
  5. Textiles
  6. Contemporary Fashion
  7. Open

Cultural Art Division:

  1. ‚ÄčBaskets
  2. Beadwork/Quillwork
  3. Flutes
  4. Traditional Dress
  5. Drums
  6. Weaponry
  7. Adornments to Regalia (Dress)
  8. Open

Miniature Art:

  • Must be 4 1/2 inches or less

Application Deadlines:

  • Adults: July 7, 2017
  • Youth: September 1, 2017
SEASAM takes place during the Chickasaw Nation Annual Meeting and Festival in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.

Eligibility:

  • Adults and youth from any federally recognized Southeastern or Woodland tribes
