Butterfly Art Contest

Out of an abundance of caution and to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, or COVID-19, certain Chickasaw Nation events, classes, facilities, etc., will be postponed, canceled or closed. For a complete list of postponements, cancelations or closures, visit the COVID-19 INFORMATION page. We will continue to update the list as the situation progresses.

Butterflies are symbolic of the beauty, inspiration and determination of Chickasaw women throughout history.

The Dynamic Women of the Chickasaw Nation Butterfly Art Contest invites female Chickasaw artists, ages 14 to 18, to submit original artwork of a butterfly.

The winning butterfly will be used as the artwork for the next Dynamic Women of the Chickasaw Nation Conference.

Artists may use paint, drawing materials or collage materials (no glitter). The actual image of the butterfly must be between five and 20 inches. Artwork must be submitted on pre-cut art paper, canvas or art board proportional to the butterfly. Artwork that does not meet requirements will be excluded from judging.

The winning artist will receive a $500 cash award and winner’s certificate.

For all requirements, see guidelines and entry form.
