Nittak Himittaꞌ “A New Day”

Out of an abundance of caution and to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, or COVID-19, certain Chickasaw Nation events, classes, facilities, etc., will be postponed, canceled or closed. Nittak himittaꞌ is a culturally guided, trauma informed residential treatment program for Native American women. Nittak himitta’ specializes in serving women, including women with children ages 12 and younger.

You Provide

  • CDIB or tribal citizenship card

Eligibility

  • Have a sincere desire to become free of addiction
  • Have a CDIB or tribal citizenship from a federally-recognized Native American tribe
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Completion of medical assessment including the purified protein derivative (PPD) test or chest X-ray (as needed)

Other Information

Individuals receive an assessment and an individualized treatment plan. Services are provided in a trauma informed environment and include:

  • Individual, group and family therapy
  • Navigation services (case management)
  • Clinical/social withdrawal management
  • Experiential therapy
  • Addiction education and relapse prevention
  • Nutrition and wellness education
  • Domestic violence prevention services
  • Tobacco cessation education
  • HSE/education classes and services are provided upon request
