Chipota Chikashshanompoli, or Youth Speaking Chickasaw, is one of the many opportunities available for children to learn to speak Chickasaw through group classes.

Applicants must be between the ages of 2-13 years old.

Program Details

A variety of resources to connect citizens with Chickasaw language learning are available using traditional and digital methods. Chipota Chikashshanompoli, or Youth Speaking Chickasaw, is one of the many opportunities available for children to begin learning to speak Chickasaw.

Participants are introduced to the language through various response activities and song. Any Chickasaw youth is invited to participate.

Virtual Kids Club

Families are invited to learn together in this virtual, culturally enriching experience.

Each session of the Chickasaw Nation’s Virtual Kids Club provides instruction on cultural activities, crafts and Chickasaw history for at-home resources families can enjoy together. Sessions are offered in two age groups. Meetings take place using Zoom every month.

Ages 2-6 will meet:

  • Nov. 7

Ages 7-13 will meet:

  • June 6
  • Aug. 1
  • Oct. 3
  • Dec. 5

Classes are open to the public. An email with the Zoom meeting link will be sent prior to each meeting. Classes will start at 5:30 p.m. CT. Please register in advance.
