9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The Chickasaw Nation Veterans Services is hosting an event in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to discuss the PACT Act at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
The PACT Act is a law expanding VA health care and benefits for veterans of the Vietnam era, Gulf War era and post-9/11 era who were exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange and other toxic substances. The full name of the law is The Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act. This law helps us provide generations of veterans and their survivors with the care and benefits they have earned and deserve.
The event is open to the public and will include discussion of resources available through the VA and the Chickasaw Nation. Veteran service officers will be present to help file claims, enroll in VA health care or make appointments for VHA toxic screenings. The Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Benefits Administration and VA Health Care Administration will also be in attendance.
