At the heart of the Blue River, the historically rich town of Tishomingo is a flourishing community rooted in southern hospitality.

Tishomingo is the Chickasaw Nation’s capital. The town’s native roots are proudly displayed in the Chickasaw Council House Museum and the Chickasaw National Capitol Building. Other historic sights are the Chickasaw Bank Museum and Sipokni West, Oklahoma's largest Western movie set and museum.

For nature lovers, enjoy the breathtaking Blue River, a trout-fishing destination and home to the Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge. Swim in Pennington Creek Park’s spring fed waters and waterfalls. Traverse aquariums and engaging exhibits at the Tishomingo Natural Fish Hatchery.

As well as boasting historic charm and natural beauty, Tishomingo has several restaurants where you can enjoy sizzling fajitas, mouthwatering barbecue or any other cuisine you’re in the mood for. Indulge a sweet pastry and get your coffee fix at the classic Latté Da Coffee House.

Stroll down to Tishomingo’s historic main street for unique boutique shops and the Chickasha Garden on Main Street. Rejuvenate at the luxurious Spa 211 where you can enjoy pedicures, hot towels, relaxing massages and more.

Tishomingo thrives on community. Annually, the tight-knit town hosts the Chickasaw Annual Meeting and Festival to celebrate the Chickasaw Nation and its heritage. Attendees can enjoy a weeklong celebration including cultural events, entertainment and fellowship.

In October, multiple cyclists enjoy the Bill Century Bike where participants can soak in the beautiful Oklahoma country for a 10, 30 or 46-mile ride. For Veterans Day and President’s Day, Tishomingo celebrates with the Blue River Trout Derby, a two-day fishing extravaganza.
